hey guys BR has the AL/HG thing down when it comes to shuligan's method, but has just NOT-recently scaled up quite a ways, anyways reaction went nice and slow(thank god for thick aluminum strips, thank god for that NOT-chem supply thats open on Saturdays that sold me NOT-strips, no one is ever open on Saturday) but aluminum didn't completely sludge until I did nice&easy reflux(waited 7 hrs. before I said fuck it and reflux, it just was taking to long), my question is this , is that normal when you are scaling upwards(lets just say NOT-280g of that legal yellow/green stuff, definitely NOT-ketone), the reason I ask this is because w/ SHULIGAN method I never refluxed and only stirred w/ glass stir rod every once in awhile(in my most reason dream only stirred every 15 min w/ glass stir rod, haven't finished yet but OHHHH! the sludge is there and yes it lookin' good). Anyways I appreciate anyones comments. NEVER MISSIN' A BEAT! |

Thanks for not postin' back guys, cuz everything is fine regardless of it needing reflux or not I'm on the road to succes(and now not afraid to do Al/Hg reaction involving multi hundred gram reductions, doing reactions w/ less to me just doesn't make much since anymore). Anyways I like the thought of figuring out all the finnicky or touch up work to all these reactions on my own, it gives me a satisfaction that I wouldn't have elsewhwere if I was realy desperate for some help. Anyways you bees out there who are having a lot of prob's with this reaction aught to e-mail me anytime and I will help you to revel in success, my first time doing 240g not ketone reduction to not MDMA using straight methylamine(to me relying on nitro to do the job is very unreliable and more shaky, besides if you think making not-methylamine is hard you ought to e-mail me and I'll give you the easiest recipe you've ever seen, hell I got 2 pounds my first time and this is back in those rookie days) anyways folks if you get anywhere near an eruption during your reaction, are going above 60c, or are processing less than 200g at once you are doing something wrong, and yes regardless of what others claim I can give you the pointers you need to avoid your problems(we've all heard about failures or accidents via reductive alkylation) and successfully animate. Anyways after I do several more experiments and do a complete write-up I think some folks will truly enjoy, the only reason I haven't done any write-up is because I want to NOT-do this experiment several times, then give a write up, then finally last but not least I will finally be tooken a little more serious around here.and if folks still think of BR after that as "fucking idiot" well I will be able to aproach them in a matter-of-fact manner w/ the proof I need to not look like a fool for postin. (oh and by the way folks that dryer 2L Coke thing matter-of-factly does work, tested,tried,and done, will give write-up after several more experiments wich I will NOT-conduct for the same reason I'm doing several not-experiments w/ this reductive alkylation before my FINAL WRITE-UP. Anyways I'm not a genius folks and dont want to be a CHEMGOD, nor do I want any more credibility than I deserve, I just want to feel accepted. Right now I feel like the new kid on the block, and nobody wants to hang out w/ me. hell if it makes other people feel better about me, I'll be the first to say I am not an educated bee, I don't even know how to calculate a mole. But I'm fortunate to be very resourceful considering the fact that I was a chem sales rep for a short time and have 24h access to a analytical lab w/ the type of equip. that would make you bust a nut upon seein' it. Anyways guys when I sound like a smart ass or my favorite "CHEMGOD", realy I just am frustrated because I receive so much ridicule from certain bee's when all I'm looking for is a couple of friends.THANKS TO ANYONE WHO TAKES THE TIME TO READ MY POST. Hey you really have to calm down BR. Nobody gives you a bad treatment here, but some bees maybe object your attitude dude. What about an alpha version of your write-up? Post some chem porn BR, the boys need it badly. |

Hey BR, what's your email addy? i'm always interested in an easier way of making MeAm. Great to hear about your multi-100g success, i'm still wallowing in 40-50g imaginary batches- i'd also bee curious about the ratios YOU used in your clothes-dryer srv... heck i'm sure the whole hive would. |
